Ahmed Tirmos, a 62-year-old father in southern Lebanon, received a text message from the Terrorist army. The message was simple: “Do you want to die alone or with your family in the house?”
This is a Zionist terrorist telling a man he is about to be murdered and asking him how many people he wants to take with him. Ahmed told his family to leave the house. He got in his car, drove to an empty road, parked on the side, and waited. Two Israeli missiles hit his vehicle. He died exactly as they told him he would.
The Israeli military tracked him. They watched him drive. They waited for him to park. And then they fired. This was not a mistake. This was not collateral damage. This was an execution, and they made him complicit in it. They gave him just enough time to say goodbye, just enough control to feel like he had a choice, and then they killed him anyway.
Where is the Muslim response to this? Where is the army that should be crossing into Lebanon? Where is the state that should be launching missiles back at the people who did this? There is none. Ahmed Tirmos died alone on a road because the Ummah has no Khalifah to protect him. We have 1.8 billion Muslims, dozens of countries, massive armies, and not one of them moved to stop this. Not one of them will respond. Ahmed’s family will bury him, and tomorrow the Israeli terrorists will send the same message to another father, and he will make the same choice, and nothing will change.
Allah says in the Quran:
And what is it with you? You do not fight in the cause of Allah and for oppressed men, women, and children who cry out, “Our Lord! Deliver us from this land of oppressors! Appoint for us a saviour; appoint for us a helper—all by Your grace.” Believers fight for the cause of Allah, whereas disbelievers fight for the cause of the Devil. So fight against Satan’s ˹evil˺ forces. Indeed, Satan’s schemes are ever weak. (Surah An-Nisa, 4:75-76)
The question is direct. What is wrong with us? Ahmed was oppressed. He was murdered. And we did nothing. We shared his story. We felt sad. We made dua. And then we went back to our lives while his family buries what is left of him.
This is what happens when the Ummah has no unity. When Muslims are divided into nation-states that care more about borders drawn by colonialists than about the blood of their own people. The Zionists can send a text message to a father and execute him in broad daylight because they know there will be no consequences. They know no Muslim army is coming. They know no Khalifah exists to declare war on them for this. They know we are weak, divided, and paralyzed.
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “The believers are like one body. If one part of the body suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever.” (Riyad as-Salihin 224).
Ahmed Tirmos was part of our body. They murdered him with a phone call and a missile. And we slept through it. There was no fever. There was no response. There was nothing except posts online that will be forgotten by next week.
When the Khilafah existed, an attack on a single Muslim was an attack on the state. The Khalifah Mu’tasim (Rahimullah) mobilized an entire army because one Muslim woman called out for help. One woman. And the Islamic state responded with thousands of soldiers. Now we have millions of Muslims being killed, displaced, starved, and humiliated, and the response is a press release. Ahmed Tirmos is dead because we have no Khilafah. His blood is on the hands of the Zionists, but his death is the result of a century of Muslim weakness and disunity.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, also said: “The Imam is a shield, behind whom you fight and by whom you are protected.”.
We have no shield. Ahmed had no protection. When the message came, there was no army to call. There was no state to intervene. There was only him, his car, and the certainty that he was about to die. He drove to that road alone because the Muslim world abandoned him long before the missile was fired.
This will keep happening. The Zionists will keep sending these messages. They will keep executing our people one by one, and they will keep doing it with precision and cruelty because they can. Because we have no power to stop them. Because the Ummah is broken into pieces, and every piece is too afraid or too weak to act. Ahmed Tirmos will not be the last. There will be another father tomorrow, and another the day after, and we will post about them and cry and do nothing.
Allah says in the Quran:
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا۟ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ ۗ وَإِذَآ
“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (Surah Ar-Ra’d, 13:11).
The change has to come from us. The Khilafah will not return by itself. It will return when Muslims decide they have had enough of watching their people die like this. It will return when we stop accepting humiliation as normal. It will return when we organize, educate, and work toward a unified Islamic state that has the power to defend Muslim life.
Stop waiting for someone else to do it. Learn what the Khilafah means. Understand why it is obligatory. Speak about it. Support those who are working toward it. Every day you delay is another day the Israeli terrorists can send a message like this and get away with it. Ahmed Tirmos is dead. His family is mourning. And the people who killed him are planning the next execution. Prove to them that the Ummah is not dead. Work for the Khilafah. Now.
