INTRODUCTION

While the Madkhalis defend Saudi Arabia’s UN membership with sophistries and distortions, an even more devastating reality unfolds before our eyes: Saudi Arabia is actively normalizing relations with the Zionist entity known as “Israel”, the occupier of Al-Aqsa, the murderer of Palestinian Muslims, and the usurper of Islamic land.

This is not speculation. This is not exaggeration. This is documented fact based on:

• Official Saudi statements
• International news reports
• Geopolitical analysis
• On-the-ground changes in Saudi policy

Yet the Saudi religious establishment, completely controlled by the state, issues fatwas claiming “there is no normalization” while the evidence screams otherwise.

This article will:

1. Define what “normalization” means
2. Prove why normalization with Israel is haram
3. Document Saudi Arabia’s normalization process
4. Expose why state-sponsored fatwas cannot be trusted
5. Identify the root problem and present the solution

PART 1: TERMINOLOGY – WHAT IS NORMALIZATION?

DEFINITION OF NORMALIZATION

Normalization literally means: “to make normal” or “to establish normal relations.”

In the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, normalization means:

“The process by which Arab or Muslim states establish diplomatic, economic, cultural, or security relations with Israel, treating it as a legitimate state rather than an occupying entity that must be resisted.”

LEVELS OF NORMALIZATION

Normalization exists on a spectrum, not just a binary “yes/no”:

LEVEL 1 – FORMAL DIPLOMATIC NORMALIZATION (Full Recognition):

• Establishing official diplomatic relations
• Opening embassies
• Signing peace treaties
• Examples: Egypt (1979), Jordan (1994), UAE (2020), Bahrain (2020), Morocco (2020)

LEVEL 2 – DE FACTO NORMALIZATION (Informal Recognition):

• No formal peace treaty, but:
  • Secret diplomatic meetings
  • Intelligence cooperation
  • Economic/trade relations
  • Security coordination
  • Allowing Israeli flights over airspace
  • Tourism cooperation
  • Technology/business partnerships
• This is where Saudi Arabia currently stands

LEVEL 3 – CULTURAL/SOCIAL NORMALIZATION:

• Softening public opinion toward Israel
• Allowing Israeli participation in sports/cultural events
• Media portrayal of Israel as “normal” rather than enemy
• Educational curriculum changes
• Removing anti-Israel content from textbooks

LEVEL 4 – ECONOMIC NORMALIZATION:

• Direct trade relations
• Investment partnerships
• Technology transfers
• Business delegations
• Joint ventures

LEVEL 5 – SECURITY NORMALIZATION:

• Intelligence sharing
• Military cooperation
• Joint military exercises (even if secret)
• Coordination against common “enemies” (Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc.)

WHEN IS ONE “NORMALIZING”?

You are normalizing with Israel when you:

Treat Israel as a legitimate state rather than an illegal occupation, Establish any relations (diplomatic, economic, security, cultural) that recognize Israel’s existence, Cooperate with Israel in any capacity beyond absolute necessity (e.g., prisoner exchanges), Facilitate Israeli interests (airspace access, intelligence sharing, diplomatic cover), Soften public opinion toward accepting Israel, Abandon the Islamic obligation to liberate Palestine

Key principle: Normalization is not only formal peace treaties. Any action that treats Israel as legitimate constitutes normalization.

PART 2: WHY NORMALIZATION WITH ISRAEL IS HARAM

A. PALESTINE IS ISLAMIC WAQF (ENDOWMENT)

The Scholarly Consensus:

Palestine, especially Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Al-Aqsa Mosque, is Islamic waqf: a permanent religious endowment that cannot be sold, given away, or recognized as belonging to non-Muslims.

1. Al-Aqsa’s Special Status:

سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَسْرَىٰ بِعَبْدِهِۦ لَيْلًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ إِلَى ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْأَقْصَا ٱلَّذِى بَـٰرَكْنَا حَوْلَهُۥ لِنُرِيَهُۥ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِنَآ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ ١

Glory be to the One Who took His servant ˹Muḥammad˺ by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque whose surroundings We have blessed, so that We may show him some of Our signs.1 Indeed, He alone is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing.

Allah blessed the land around Al-Aqsa. This makes it sacred Islamic territory.

2. Historical Islamic Rule:

• Conquered by Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) in 637 CE
• Under Muslim rule for 1,300+ years (except brief Crusader occupation)
• Contains the third holiest site in Islam

B. ISRAEL IS AN ILLEGAL OCCUPATION

The Reality:

Israel was established through:

• Ethnic cleansing – 750,000+ Palestinians expelled (Nakba, 1948)
• Theft of land – Palestinian homes, farms, villages seized
• Ongoing occupation – West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem
• Systematic oppression – Apartheid system by international law definitions
• War crimes – Bombing civilians, collective punishment, assassinations

Allah says:

وَلَا تَرْكَنُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ فَتَمَسَّكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ

And do not be inclined to the wrongdoers or you will be touched by the Fire. For then you would have no protectors other than Allah, nor would you be helped.

Normalizing with Israel = “inclining toward those who do wrong”

C. JIHAD TO LIBERATE OCCUPIED LAND IS OBLIGATORY

When Muslim land is occupied, jihad to liberate it becomes:

• Fard ‘Ayn (individual obligation) for those able to fight
• Fard Kifayah (collective obligation) for the rest of the Ummah to support

1. General Obligation to Fight Oppressors:

وَقَـٰتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقَـٰتِلُونَكُمْ وَلَا تَعْتَدُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ

Fight in the cause of Allah ˹only˺ against those who wage war against you, but do not exceed the limits. Allah does not like transgressors.

2. Defending Muslim Land:

وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلْبَغْىُ هُمْ يَنتَصِرُونَ

And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves,

If jihad is obligatory, then normalizing with the occupier = betraying the obligation

D. ALLAH FORBIDS ALLYING WITH ENEMIES OF MUSLIMS

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ عَدُوِّى وَعَدُوَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَآءَ تُلْقُونَ إِلَيْهِم بِٱلْمَوَدَّةِ وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِمَا جَآءَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْحَقِّ يُخْرِجُونَ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۙ أَن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ رَبِّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ خَرَجْتُمْ جِهَـٰدًۭا فِى سَبِيلِى وَٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِى ۚ تُسِرُّونَ إِلَيْهِم بِٱلْمَوَدَّةِ وَأَنَا۠ أَعْلَمُ بِمَآ أَخْفَيْتُمْ وَمَآ أَعْلَنتُمْ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْهُ مِنكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ١

O believers! Do not take My enemies and yours as trusted allies, showing them affection even though they deny what has come to you of the truth. They drove the Messenger and yourselves out ˹of Mecca˺, simply for your belief in Allah, your Lord. If you ˹truly˺ emigrated to struggle in My cause and seek My pleasure, ˹then do not take them as allies,˺ disclosing secrets ˹of the believers˺ to the pagans out of affection for them, when I know best whatever you conceal and whatever you reveal. And whoever of you does this has truly strayed from the Right Way.

Israel is actively at war with Palestinians (Muslims). Any cooperation, even secret, is forbidden.

Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi:

“Normalization with Israel is haram. It is betrayal of Allah, His Messenger, and the believers.”

PART 3: IS SAUDI ARABIA NORMALIZING WITH ISRAEL?

THE UNDENIABLE EVIDENCE

Saudi Arabia is engaged in de facto normalization, everything except a formal peace treaty. The evidence is overwhelming:

A. OFFICIAL SAUDI STATEMENTS

1. Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) – March 2022:

“I believe that every country has the right to its own territory, and Israel is no different.”

This is explicit recognition of Israel’s “right” to exist on stolen Palestinian land.

2. MBS – September 2023:

“Every day we get closer to normalization [with Israel]… For us, the Palestinian issue is very important. We need to solve that part.”

“For us, we hope that the conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians is solved. We don’t look at Israel as an enemy, we look to them as a potential ally, with many interests that we can pursue together. But we have to solve some issues before we get to that.”

“We do not look at Israel as an enemy but as a potential ally in various interests that we could seek to achieve together. But it should solve its problems with the Palestinians,”

Regarding the growing normalization between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bin Salman said: 

The agreement between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries states that no GCC country will take any action—political, security, economic action—that harms other GCC countries. And all GCC countries have committed to this. Regardless of that, each country has independence to do whatever they want, based on their views, and they have a total right to do whatever they think that’s useful for UAE.

Muhammad Bin Salman:

• Admits normalization is happening
• Treats Palestine as a “problem to solve” rather than an occupation to end
• Implies: “Once we get a minimal Palestinian concession, we’ll formalize ties with Israel”

3. Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan – Multiple Statements (2020-2023):

“We are open to normalization with Israel if there is a pathway to a Palestinian state.”

This is conditional normalization, not rejection of normalization itself.

4. The Jews say:

The normalization process between Israel and Arab states was not interrupted by the change of government in the United States, and the Biden administration also encouraged the expansion of relations. Israel keeps working behind the scenes to promote additional Arab and Muslim states to join the process, particularly Saudi Arabia.

B. AIRSPACE ACCESS FOR ISRAELI FLIGHTS

FACT: Since July 2022, Saudi Arabia officially opened its airspace to all air carriers, including Israeli airlines.

What This Means:

Previously, Israeli planes could not fly over Saudi airspace, forcing long detours for flights to/from Asia.

Now:

• Israeli commercial flights cross Saudi airspace daily
• Israeli airlines (El Al, Israir) save hours on routes to India, China, etc.
• This is a major economic benefit to Israel

Facilitating Israeli travel and commerce = cooperating with the occupation

C. SECRET DIPLOMATIC MEETINGS

Documented Meetings Between Saudi and Israeli Officials:

1. November 2020 – Neom Meeting:

• Netanyahu secretly flew to Neom (Saudi Arabia)
• Met with MBS
• First public acknowledgment of high-level Saudi-Israeli talks

Al jazeera Writes:

Pompeo has tried to coax the Gulf powerhouse to follow its neighbours, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain, in establishing formal relations with Israel, a rapprochement built largely on shared concerns over Iran.

Riyadh has so far declined to normalise ties with Israel, saying Palestinian statehood goals should be addressed first. But the Saudis have allowed Israeli airliners to overfly their territory to newly available Gulf destinations and to Asia.

Over the weekend, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said his country has “supported normalisation with Israel for a long time, but one very important thing must happen first: a permanent and full peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians”.

During a meeting with the Saudi foreign minister last month, Pompeo had urged the Saudis to consider normalising relations with Israel.

“We hope Saudi Arabia will consider normalising its relationships as well, and we want to thank them for the assistance they’ve had in the success of the Abraham Accords so far,” Pompeo said.

2. 2019 – Conference in Warsaw:

• Saudi Foreign Minister met openly with Netanyahu
• Photographed together at US-sponsored conference

3. Ongoing Intelligence Cooperation (2015-present):

• Joint operations against Iran
• Information sharing on Hezbollah, Hamas
• Expanded “military cooperation” with Israel
  • intelligence sharing, joint planning, air-defense coordination, and joint training
• Coordination through US/UAE intermediaries

D. ECONOMIC/TECHNOLOGY COOPERATION

1. Israeli Companies Operating in Saudi Arabia:

Despite no formal relations, Israeli tech companies have confirmed business in Saudi Arabia:

• Cybersecurity firms selling to Saudi government
• Surveillance technology (NSO Group – Pegasus spyware used by Saudis)

2. Joint Investments:

• Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) has invested in companies with major Israeli ties
• SoftBank Vision Fund (major Saudi investor) has numerous Israeli startups in portfolio

3. Tourism Push:

Saudi Arabia is softening public perception:

• Saudi influencers visiting Israel (with government approval)
  • A study of Saudi school textbooks by IMPACT-SE (2023/24 edition) found that the Saudi curriculum has “softened” its stance toward Israel and Zionism. Textbooks reportedly no longer label Zionism as a “racist” European movement. While Israel still isn’t named on maps and the “occupation” terminology remains, the change reflects a shift in narrative.
  • Research published by INSS in 2024 argues that Saudi authorities are aware of the “public-opinion challenge” around normalization, and that part of the government’s strategy has involved efforts to build “public support for normalization”, especially by emphasising economic benefits rather than security cooperation.

E. THE “ABRAHAM ACCORDS” FRAMEWORK

What Are the Abraham Accords?

• US-brokered normalization deals between Israel and Arab states
• Signed by: UAE (2020), Bahrain (2020), Morocco (2020), Sudan (2020)
• Saudi Arabia’s role: Reportedly gave permission to Arab states to proceed
• Current status: US is actively negotiating Saudi-Israel normalization as next step

Evidence Saudi Arabia Is Next:

1. Biden Administration Priority:

“We are working on a normalization agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel.”

2. Saudi Demands:

Saudi has stated it will normalize in exchange for:

• US security guarantees
• Access to advanced weapons
• Help with nuclear program
• Minimal concessions to Palestinians (e.g., symbolic “state” with no real sovereignty)

3. Netanyahu’s Statement (2023):

“I’m working towards a historic peace with Saudi Arabia.”

PART 4: STATE FATWAS DENYING NORMALIZATION, WHY THEY’RE UNRELIABLE

A. THE STATE FATWA APPARATUS

Who Issues “Official” Fatwas in Saudi Arabia?

1. Council of Senior Scholars – appointed and controlled by the government
2. Grand Mufti – appointed by the King, serves at his pleasure
3. Ministry of Islamic Affairs – government ministry
4. All funded and controlled by the Saudi state

The Problem:

These scholars are employees of the state. Their salaries, positions, and safety depend on pleasing the rulers.

Allah warns:

۞ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْأَحْبَارِ وَٱلرُّهْبَانِ لَيَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ ٱلذَّهَبَ وَٱلْفِضَّةَ وَلَا يُنفِقُونَهَا فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍۢ ٣٤

O believers! Indeed, many rabbis and monks consume people’s wealth wrongfully and hinder ˹others˺ from the Way of Allah. Give good news of a painful torment to those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in Allah’s cause.

B. EXAMPLES OF STATE FATWAS COVERING FOR NORMALIZATION

1. “There Is No Normalization” Fatwas:

Despite overwhelming evidence, state-controlled scholars claim:

“Saudi Arabia has not normalized with Israel. The Kingdom remains committed to the Palestinian cause.”

They play word games, focusing on “formal treaty” while ignoring de facto normalization.

2. “Opening Airspace Is Not Normalization”:

State scholars claimed:

“Allowing Israeli planes in our airspace is merely administrative, not political recognition.”

This is absurd. Every other Arab state that opened airspace to Israel did so as part of normalization. It’s a major concession.

3. “Meeting Israeli Officials Is Diplomacy, Not Normalization”:

“These are exploratory talks, not formal relations.”

Secret meetings with occupiers of Muslim land, for any purpose, is cooperation with oppressors.

C. HISTORICAL PRECEDENT: STATES ALWAYS LIE

Why State Fatwas Cannot Be Trusted:

EXAMPLE 1: Egyptian Normalization (1979)

Before Camp David Accords:

• Egyptian scholars: “Egypt will never make peace with Israel!”

After Camp David:

• Same scholars: “This peace treaty is in Islam’s interest”
• Complete reversal, because the state demanded it

EXAMPLE 2: UAE Normalization (2020)

Before Abraham Accords:

• UAE official line: “No normalization without Palestinian state”

After signing:

• UAE scholars: “This is strategic wisdom, not betrayal”
• State-controlled media praised the deal

D. THE PATTERN: RULERS DEMAND, SCHOLARS OBEY

How It Works:

Step 1: Ruler makes political decision (e.g., normalize with Israel) 

Step 2: Ruler asks scholars to “find Islamic justification” 

Step 3: Scholars either:

• ✅ Obey and issue favorable fatwa (keep their job)
• ❌ Refuse and face imprisonment/removal (e.g., Salman al-Awdah, Safar al-Hawali)

Current Examples of Saudi Scholars Imprisoned for Refusing to Obey:

1. Sheikh Salman al-Awdah:

• Arrested September 2017
• Crime: Refused to endorse Qatar blockade, criticized government policies
• Status: Death penalty demanded by prosecution
• Message: “Dissent will not be tolerated”

2. Sheikh Safar al-Hawali:

• Arrested July 2018
• Crime: Wrote book criticizing Saudi domestic and foreign policy
• Status: Imprisoned, health deteriorating

3. Dozens of other scholars:

• Arrested 2017-2020
• Many still in prison
• Crime: Not toeing the state line

The Message to Remaining Scholars:

“Issue fatwas we like, or you’re next.”

PART 5: WHY SAUDI CITIZENS BELIEVE STATE PROPAGANDA

A. INFORMATION CONTROL

1. Media Monopoly:

• All major Saudi media is state-controlled or state-influenced
• Independent journalism is criminalized
• Journalists who criticize government face imprisonment or death (e.g., Jamal Khashoggi)

2. Social Media Surveillance:

• Saudi government uses advanced surveillance (including Israeli Pegasus spyware)
• Critics on Twitter/social media are tracked and arrested

3. Educational System:

• Schools teach loyalty to rulers as religious obligation
• Madkhali ideology promoted in curriculum
• Critical thinking about government discouraged

B. RELIGIOUS MANIPULATION

1. Takfir Accusations:

Anyone who criticizes Saudi policies is accused of being:

• “Khawarij” (extremists)
• “Ikhwan” (Muslim Brotherhood)
• “Qutbi” (followers of Sayyid Qutb)
• “Hizbee” (partisans)

Effect: Loyal citizens avoid criticism to avoid these labels.

C. NATIONALISM AND PRIDE

Saudi Arabia promotes national pride:

• “We are guardians of the Two Holy Mosques”
• “We are the birthplace of Islam”
• “We are leaders of the Muslim world”

Many Saudis find it psychologically difficult to accept that their government is betraying Islam.

This is cognitive dissonance: “My country is Islamic AND normalization is haram” cannot both be true, so they deny the normalization.

D. GRADUAL NORMALIZATION

The “Boiling Frog” Method:

Changes happen slowly so people don’t notice:

2015: “We’ll never work with Israel” 

2017: “Maybe secret cooperation against Iran is okay” 

2019: “Meeting Israeli officials in third countries is just diplomacy” 

2022: “Opening airspace is administrative, not political” 

2023: “Normalization might happen but with conditions” 

2024: “Normalization is strategic wisdom”

Each step seems small, but cumulatively = full normalization.

PART 6: THE ROOT PROBLEM – WHY THIS IS HAPPENING

THE CORE ISSUE: ABSENCE OF THE KHILAFAH

The normalization crisis is not isolated—it is a symptom of a deeper structural problem:

When the Khilafah was abolished (March 3, 1924), the Muslim Ummah lost:

1. UNIFIED AUTHORITY:

• Before: One Khalifah representing all Muslims
• After: 50+ nation-states, each pursuing separate interests
• Result: Arab rulers can betray Palestine individually without unified Muslim opposition

2. ISLAMIC SOVEREIGNTY:

• Before: Muslim lands governed by Shari’ah
• After: Muslim lands bound by Western systems (UN Charter, international law)
• Result: Rulers justify normalization using Western “pragmatism” and “national interest”

3. MILITARY POWER:

• Before: One united Muslim army
• After: Fragmented armies serving national, not Islamic, interests
• Result: No credible military deterrent to protect Palestine

4. ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE UMMAH:

• Before: Khalifah accountable to scholars and Muslim community
• After: Kings/presidents accountable only to themselves and Western powers
• Result: Rulers can ignore Islamic obligations without consequence

WHY INDIVIDUAL MUSLIM STATES CANNOT SOLVE THIS

The Problem with Nation-States:

1. Competing Interests:

• Saudi vs. Iran vs. Turkey vs. Egypt = divided Ummah
• Each state prioritizes national interest over Islamic interest
• Example: Saudi sees Iran as bigger threat than Israel

2. Western Dependency:

• Most Muslim states depend on:
  • Western military protection (e.g., Saudi-US alliance)
  • Western economic aid
  • Western political support
• Result: They cannot oppose Western-backed Israel

3. Artificial Borders:

• Sykes-Picot divided the Ummah geographically
• Created weak states that cannot independently challenge Israel
• Example: Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine = all artificially separated

4. Lack of Islamic Legitimacy:

• Most Muslim rulers gained power through:
  • Colonial appointment
  • Military coups
  • Family dynasties
• Not through Islamic bay’ah (pledge of allegiance)
• Result: They have no Islamic mandate to represent Muslims

THE HISTORICAL CONTRAST

When Muslims Had a Khilafah:

Example 1: Crusader Occupation of Jerusalem (1099-1187)

Problem: Christians occupied Al-Quds Islamic Response:

• Salahuddin united Muslim forces
• Declared jihad
• Liberated Jerusalem in 1187
• Time to liberation: 88 years

Example 2: Mongol Invasion (1258)

Problem: Mongols destroyed Baghdad, killed Khalifah Islamic Response:

• Muslims regrouped under Mamluk Sultanate
• Defeated Mongols at Ain Jalut (1260)
• Restored Islamic authority
• Time to victory: 2 years

Current Situation: Israeli Occupation (1948-present)

Problem: Zionists occupy Palestine, including Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Current “Response”:

• 50+ Muslim states, divided and weak
• No unified military action
• Arab rulers normalizing with the occupier
• Time elapsed: 76+ years with no liberation

The Difference: Presence vs. absence of unified Islamic leadership

THE QURANIC DIAGNOSIS

Allah explains why Muslims are defeated:

وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَا تَنَـٰزَعُوا۟ فَتَفْشَلُوا۟ وَتَذْهَبَ رِيحُكُمْ ۖ وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ ٤٦

Obey Allah and His Messenger and do not dispute with one another, or you would be discouraged and weakened. Persevere! Surely Allah is with those who persevere.

Current Reality:

• Muslim states dispute with each other (Saudi-Iran, Turkey-Egypt, etc.)

The Solution Allah Commands:

وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًۭا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟ ۚ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَآءًۭ فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِۦٓ إِخْوَٰنًۭا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ١٠٣

And hold firmly together to the rope of Allah1 and do not be divided. Remember Allah’s favour upon you when you were enemies, then He united your hearts, so you—by His grace—became brothers. And you were at the brink of a fiery pit and He saved you from it. This is how Allah makes His revelations clear to you, so that you may be ˹rightly˺ guided.

PART 7: THE ONLY SOLUTION – RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF THE KHILAFAH

WHY THE KHILAFAH IS THE SOLUTION

A unified Islamic Caliphate would:

1. END NORMALIZATION IMMEDIATELY:

• One authority means one policy
• No individual rulers pursuing separate interests
• Khilafah would declare: “Normalization with Israel is haram” – binding on all Muslims

2. UNIFY MUSLIM RESOURCES:

• 1.8+ billion Muslims under one leadership
• Combined military of all Muslim armies
• Combined economy – vast oil wealth, strategic resources, massive markets
• Result: Credible power to challenge Israeli occupation

3. RESTORE ISLAMIC SOVEREIGNTY:

• Governance by Shari’ah, not UN Charter
• Liberation of Palestine becomes state policy, not ignored obligation
• Islamic law would forbid:
  • Recognition of Israel
  • Cooperation with occupiers
  • Abandonment of jihad for occupied land

4. LIBERATE AL-AQSA:

• Fard ‘Ayn obligation becomes state responsibility
• Unified military strategy
• No Arab ruler could secretly cooperate with Israel
• Historical precedent: Salahuddin liberated Jerusalem under unified leadership

THE PROPHETIC PROMISE

The Prophet ﷺ prophesied the return of righteous Islamic governance:

“Prophethood will be among you as long as Allah wills, then Allah will remove it. Then there will be Khilafah on the Prophetic methodology, and it will last as long as Allah wills. Then Allah will remove it. Then there will be hereditary rule (mulk), and it will last as long as Allah wills. Then Allah will remove it. Then there will be tyrannical rule (mulk jabriyyah), and it will last as long as Allah wills. Then Allah will remove it. Then there will be Khilafah on the Prophetic methodology.”

Where Are We Now?

Current stage: Tyrannical rule (mulk jabriyyah)

• Rulers who betray Islamic obligations
• Normalization with Israel
• Submission to UN authority
• Oppression of scholars who speak truth

Next stage: Khilafah on Prophetic methodology

• Return to Shari’ah governance
• Islamic unity
• Liberation of Muslim lands
• Justice and accountability

This is not wishful thinking, it is a prophetic promise.

CONCLUSION: THE CHOICE BEFORE US

The evidence is clear and undeniable. Saudi Arabia is actively normalizing relations with the Zionist entity that occupies Al-Aqsa, oppresses our Palestinian brothers and sisters, and sits upon stolen Islamic land. This is not speculation, it is documented through official statements, policy changes, diplomatic meetings, and economic cooperation.

The state-controlled religious establishment issues hollow denials while the normalization process continues unabated. Their fatwas cannot be trusted, for they serve the interests of rulers rather than the commands of Allah. History has shown us this pattern repeatedly: when rulers decide to betray Islamic principles, court scholars are made to provide religious cover for the betrayal.

The Reality We Must Accept:

Saudi citizens and Muslims worldwide must confront an uncomfortable truth: the current system of divided nation-states, each pursuing its own interests under Western influence, has made the betrayal of Palestine inevitable. Without unified Islamic authority, there is no accountability, no unified resistance, and no hope for liberation.

The Root Cause:

This crisis is not merely about one country’s foreign policy. It is the direct consequence of the absence of the Khilafah. When the Ummah lost its unified leadership in 1924, we lost our ability to protect Muslim lands, implement Islamic law, and stand united against our enemies. The occupation of Palestine continues not because Muslims lack resources or numbers, but because we lack unity under righteous Islamic governance.

Our Obligation:

As believers, we cannot remain silent while Al-Aqsa is abandoned and Islamic principles are compromised for political expediency. We must:

1. Recognize the truth – Accept that normalization is happening despite official denials
2. Reject state propaganda – Understand that government-controlled scholars serve rulers, not Islam
3. Work for the solution – Support efforts to re-establish the Khilafah on the Prophetic methodology
4. Maintain our stance – Never accept the legitimacy of Israel or the abandonment of Palestine

The Promise of Allah:

The darkness we witness today is not permanent. The Prophet ﷺ promised the return of Khilafah on the Prophetic methodology. Our duty is to work toward that day with patience, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to Islamic principles.

When the Khilafah returns—and it will return by Allah’s permission—normalization will end, Muslim lands will be united, and the liberation of Al-Aqsa will become the policy of the state rather than an abandoned obligation. Until that day, we must speak truth, expose falsehood, and never compromise our Islamic principles for temporary worldly gains.

The Final Word:

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَـٰفِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍۢ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُ

Do not think ˹O Prophet˺ that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them until a Day when ˹their˺ eyes will stare in horror, rushing forth, heads raised, never blinking, hearts void.

The betrayal of Palestine will not go unanswered. The rulers who normalize with oppressors will be held accountable, if not in this world, then certainly in the next. And the Ummah will rise again, united under righteous leadership, to fulfill its obligation to liberate every inch of occupied Muslim land.

The question is not whether change will come, but whether we will be among those who worked for it or among those who remained silent while it was needed most.

May Allah unite the Muslims, liberate Al-Aqsa, and hasten the return of the Khilafah on the Prophetic methodology.
