Forty days. In that time, Israel has destroyed 37,836 homes in Lebanon, killed over 2,000 people, and murdered more than 250 children.
This is not war. This is systematic destruction. This is ethnic cleansing. This is genocide. And the world watches in silence.
The Scale of Destruction
The numbers reveal the brutality. Israel is destroying 945 homes per day in Lebanon. That is 39 homes every hour, one home every 92 seconds. Fifty people are killed daily, one person every 29 minutes. Six children are murdered each day, one child every four hours.
These are residential neighborhoods. Families and communities. The Israeli military, armed with American weapons and backed by Western governments, is systematically erasing Lebanese towns and villages from existence.
In Gaza, Israel has destroyed 81% of all structures. In Lebanon, the pattern is identical. Flatten homes, displace populations, deny responsibility. This is the Israeli playbook, repeated for decades across Palestine and now exported to Lebanon.
The Familiar Lies
Israel justifies this slaughter with the same tired excuses. They claim to target terrorists. They accuse their victims of using human shields. They say they warned civilians to evacuate.
If Israel only targets terrorists, why are 250 children dead? If warnings to evacuate were genuine, where exactly should people go when the entire country is being bombed? The answer is nowhere. “Evacuate” is simply another word for ethnic cleansing. Israel wants the land empty.
The “human shields” accusation is bizarre given that Israel has bombed schools, hospitals, mosques, refugee camps, and residential buildings across Lebanon. Either everything in Lebanon is a human shield, or Israel simply does not care who it kills.
Why Lebanon?
Israel claims this assault targets Hezbollah. But Hezbollah exists because Israel invaded and occupied southern Lebanon for 18 years. Hezbollah formed as a resistance movement against an occupying army. When Israel finally withdrew in 2000, it was because Hezbollah forced them out.
Even accepting the Israeli narrative about Hezbollah does not explain why 38,000 civilian homes have been destroyed. It does not explain why 250 children are dead. The truth is simple: this assault is not about Hezbollah. This is about breaking Lebanon and sending a message to anyone who dares resist Israel.
The Silence of Muslim Governments
Lebanon is a Muslim-majority country. Its people are being slaughtered. And the response from Muslim governments? Statements. Condemnations. Calls for calm. Nothing more.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE have normalized relations with Israel. Egypt and Jordan maintain peace treaties with Israel. Turkey continues trade with Israel. These governments will not act because acting would threaten their relationships with Washington.
Fifty-seven Muslim countries exist today, and together they cannot stop Israel from destroying one Muslim nation. This is the failure of the nation-state system. This is the result of division. This is what happens when borders matter more than brotherhood.
American Complicity
Israel receives $3.8 billion in American military aid annually. Every bomb dropped on Lebanon, every missile that kills a Lebanese child, is funded by American taxpayers and manufactured in American factories.
When the United Nations attempts to hold Israel accountable, the United States vetoes the resolution. This has happened repeatedly, regardless of how many civilians are killed. The European Union offers nothing but empty rhetoric while maintaining full diplomatic and economic relations with Israel.
Western governments are not neutral observers. They are active participants in this genocide.
The System Has Failed
Ceasefires do not work because Israel breaks them. Peace negotiations do not work because Israel uses them as cover for expansion. International law does not work because Israel violates it with impunity. The United Nations does not work because the United States protects Israel from consequences.
The current system cannot stop Israel because the current system was designed to protect Israeli interests. Muslim nation-states, weak and divided, issue statements while Israeli bombs fall. This will continue as long as the Ummah remains fragmented into separate countries serving separate interests.
The Only Solution: The Khilafah
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “The believers, in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion, are like one body. If one part suffers, the whole body responds.” (Sahih Muslim, 2586)
The Muslim body is not responding. Lebanon suffers alone because the Ummah has no unified leadership, no central authority, no state capable of defending Muslim land.
A Khilafah would not issue meaningless statements. It would impose real consequences. Economic sanctions. Closed airspace. Military mobilization. A unified Islamic state would make clear that an attack on one Muslim nation is an attack on the entire Ummah.
Israel bombs Lebanon today because it knows Lebanon stands alone. It knows the Muslim world is divided and will not act. A Khilafah would end that calculation. Israel would face a unified state representing 1.8 billion Muslims with the resources and political will to defend its people.
Allah says: “And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women, and children?” (An-Nisa, 4:75)
The Khilafah is not optional. It is the obligation that will end the cycle of Muslim nations being destroyed one by one while the rest watch helplessly.
The Work Begins Now
Forty days. 37,836 homes destroyed. 2,000 people killed. 250 children murdered. And Israel continues bombing because there are no consequences.
This is not just Lebanon’s crisis. Every Muslim nation is vulnerable under this system. The nation-states have failed. International institutions have failed. Only the Khilafah can provide the unity and strength necessary to defend Muslim lands.
Work for the Khilafah. Educate others about it. Organize for it. Because until we rebuild the system that can protect us, the bombs will continue falling, the homes will continue being destroyed, and the children will continue dying.
And the blame will rest on those who had the ability to change the system but chose to accept it instead.
