THE QUESTION EVERYONE ASKS
“Okay, I understand the Khilafah is Fard. I see the nation-states have failed. I see the tawaghit are traitors. But HOW? How are we supposed to bring it back?” This is the most important question. And alhamdulillah, we don’t have to guess the answer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ already showed us EXACTLY how to establish Islamic authority.
He didn’t start with an army. He didn’t start with wealth. He didn’t start with political power. He started with TWO things: DA’WAH (calling people to the truth) and NUSRAH (seeking material support from people of power). This is the methodology. This is the Sunnah. This is the ONLY way that has Allah’s blessing.
THE PROPHET’S METHODOLOGY ﷺ: THE SEERAH IS OUR GUIDE
PHASE 1: DA’WAH, Building the Intellectual Foundation (13 Years in Makkah)
When the Prophet ﷺ received revelation, what did he do? Did he immediately try to overthrow the Quraysh government? No. Did he start a military rebellion? No. Did he gather weapons and fight? No. What did he do? He made DA’WAH.
For 13 YEARS, the Prophet ﷺ focused on calling people to Tawheed, the correct belief in Allah. He spent over a decade teaching them Islam, building a community of believers who understood the message, developing leaders among the companions who could carry this truth forward, challenging the false systems of Quraysh rule, and enduring the most severe persecution with patience and steadfastness.
The Prophet ﷺ didn’t say “Let’s just pray and make dua and ignore politics.” No! He directly challenged the political system of Makkah! He told them: “Your gods are false, your system is corrupt, your leaders are oppressors, and you must submit to Allah’s law.” This was political da’wah. This was challenging the ruling authority directly. But he did it through DA’WAH, calling people to think, to question their assumptions, to embrace truth through conviction, not through violence or force.
What Da’wah Means for Us Today
Da’wah is not just “be nice to people and they’ll become Muslim.” Da’wah in the context of establishing Khilafah means something much deeper and more comprehensive.
First, it means educating Muslims about the FARD of Khilafah, because most Muslims don’t even know it’s obligatory. Most Muslims think “just be good Muslim individually” is enough, and most Muslims actually defend the nation-state system out of sheer ignorance. Your job is to TEACH THEM the truth.
Second, da’wah means exposing the corruption of the current systems. You must show how nation-states have failed for 102 years, expose how tawaghit rulers systematically betray Islam and Muslims, and demonstrate conclusively how the entire system is designed by our enemies to keep Muslims weak and divided. Your job is to WAKE THEM UP from their comfortable delusions.
Third, da’wah means presenting Islam as a complete system of life. Islam is not just personal worship between you and Allah in your private room like christianity. Islam has a political system, an economic system, a social system, a judicial system, it is comprehensive. The Khilafah is simply the implementation of Islam as the complete way of life that Allah intended. Your job is to SHOW THEM THE VISION of what Islam truly is.
Fourth, da’wah means building a community of people who understand this reality. You must find others who see the truth, study together, learn together, support each other in this difficult work, and create networks of committed believers. Your job is to BUILD THE MOVEMENT from the ground up, person by person, conversation by conversation.
PHASE 2: NUSRAH, Seeking Material Support (The Final Stage)
After 13 years of tireless da’wah in Makkah, what did the Prophet ﷺ do next? He sought Nusrah. What is Nusrah? Nusrah means seeking material support, specifically, seeking protection, resources, and backing from people who have actual power in society. The Prophet ﷺ went to the tribes around Makkah, one after another, and said to them: “Will you protect me so I can deliver the message of Allah? Will you give me support so I can establish Islam in practice?”
He went to Banu Amir, they refused him. He went to Banu Hanifa, they rejected his call. He approached Banu Kalb, they turned him away. He tried Kindah, they said no. And he went to many other tribes, facing rejection after rejection, disappointment after disappointment. But he KEPT SEEKING NUSRAH. He never gave up. He never said “this is impossible.” He persisted with unshakeable faith that Allah’s promise would come true.
Until finally, the Ansar of Madinah accepted his call! They said to him: “O Messenger of Allah, we will protect you. We will support you. We will give you the power and security to establish Islam.” This was the Nusrah that changed everything. And what happened immediately after that turning point? The Islamic State was established in Madinah! The Prophet ﷺ became not just a preacher but the leader of a functioning political entity! Islamic law was implemented in real life, not just preached as theory! And within just 10 years after that, all of Arabia, which had been pagan, divided, and barbaric, was united under Islamic authority!
What Nusrah Means for Us Today
Nusrah means seeking support from people who have MATERIAL POWER in our current context. Today, who are the people with material power? They are military leaders and officers who control armed forces, government officials who make and enforce policy, wealthy businesspeople who have financial resources, influential community leaders who can mobilize masses, and people in positions of authority across all sectors of society. The work of Nusrah is to reach these specific people with da’wah and ask them directly: “Will you support the re-establishment of Khilafah? Will you use your position, your resources, your influence to work for this Fard obligation?”
Just like the Prophet ﷺ went to tribe after tribe seeking their backing, the carriers of this da’wah today must go to people of power and influence with the same message.
When enough people of power and influence come to support the idea, when military officers across Muslim lands understand that establishing Khilafah is actually a religious obligation they’re abandoning, when government officials recognize this duty, when wealthy people dedicate their resources to this cause, THEN the Khilafah can be established. This is the Prophetic methodology. There is no other way that has Allah’s blessing. Any path that deviates from da’wah and nusrah is a path we must reject completely.
Allah said:
“Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah often.” (Surah al-Ahzab 33:21)
WHAT YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL CAN DO
“But I’m just one person. I have no power. I’m not a scholar or a leader. What can I possibly do?” Here’s what YOU can do, right now, today, regardless of who you are or where you are:
1. EDUCATE YOURSELF FIRST
You cannot give da’wah effectively if you don’t deeply understand the issue yourself. How can you convince others of something you only superficially understand? You must study. Learn why the Khilafah is Fard, not just “someone told me it’s important” but the actual evidence from the Quran, Sunnah, and the consensus of scholars throughout Islamic history. Study how the current nation-state system fails Muslims at every turn, how we arrived at this humiliating situation, the history of how we lost the Khilafah in 1924, and the detailed methodology of how to bring it back.
What should you study specifically? Read books on the Islamic political system written by knowledgeable scholars. Study the Seerah, the biography of the Prophet ﷺ, but this time focus specifically on the political aspects: how he built a movement, how he dealt with opposition, how he established the state in Madinah, how he governed. Learn from contemporary scholars who understand this obligation and haven’t been corrupted by nationalism or secularism. Understand all the common arguments and doubts so you can respond to them with knowledge and confidence.
2. START MAKING DA’WAH IN YOUR CIRCLES
You don’t need to be a scholar giving speeches to thousands of people. You don’t need a platform or fame. Start small, right where you are. Talk to your family, your parents, your siblings, your spouse, your children. Talk to your close friends who you trust. Engage people in your community at the masjid after prayers. Have conversations with your colleagues at work when appropriate. Use your social media connections to spread ideas and spark discussions.
What exactly should you say? Ask questions that make people think:
“Did you know that establishing the Khilafah is actually Fard according to the consensus of scholars?”
“Have you ever studied what the classical scholars said about Islamic governance and why it’s obligatory?”
“Why do you think the Muslim world is so incredibly weak despite having 57 countries, massive populations, and vast resources?”
“What do you honestly think is the real solution to Palestine’s situation, more UN resolutions that get vetoed, or something fundamentally different?”
Plant seeds in people’s minds. Make them THINK. Challenge their comfortable assumptions. Many Muslims live in a bubble where they’ve never questioned the nation-state system, never thought critically about why we’re in this situation, never considered that there might be a different way. Your job is to pop that bubble gently but firmly.
You will absolutely face resistance. People will call you an extremist, unrealistic, dangerous, a troublemaker, someone who doesn’t understand “how the real world works.” The Prophet ﷺ was called far worse, sorcerer, madman, poet, liar possessed by jinn. If he faced that and kept going, you can handle being called “unrealistic.” Keep going. Truth doesn’t need everyone’s approval to remain true.
3. ORGANIZE STUDY CIRCLES
Gather a few people, even if it’s just 2 or 3 individuals to start, and study together regularly. This is more powerful than you realize. Schedule a weekly study circle where you go deep into these topics systematically.
Week 1, study the obligation of Khilafah in Islamic scholarship, read what the classical scholars said, examine the evidence.
Week 2, study how Sykes-Picot and colonialism deliberately destroyed Muslim unity.
Week 3, document and discuss the specific failures of nation-states over the past 100 years.
Week 4, study the Prophet’s detailed methodology in establishing the Islamic state in Madinah.
Week 5, discuss honestly: what is our role as individuals and what can we actually do?
This is precisely how movements are built throughout history, small groups of deeply committed people who understand the vision and are willing to work for it. The Prophet ﷺ started with a tiny group meeting secretly in Dar al-Arqam in Makkah. You can start with your living room or a corner of your local masjid. Don’t wait for perfect conditions or large numbers. Start small and watch it grow.
4. USE SOCIAL MEDIA AS A DA’WAH TOOL
Social media is one of the most powerful tools for spreading ideas that has ever existed in human history. Use it strategically. Post short videos explaining why the Khilafah is Fard according to Islamic scholarship. Share authentic quotes from classical scholars about Islamic governance. Analyze current news events showing how nation-states consistently fail Muslims. Share historical facts about how Islam protected people of all faiths under Khilafah, Jews, Christians, and others lived safely under Islamic rule for centuries.
Be strategic in how you communicate. Don’t use inflammatory language that gets you immediately banned from platforms or makes people dismiss you without listening. Focus on education and solid arguments, though strategic use of emotion certainly has its place. Respond to comments with knowledge and patience, not anger and insults. Build a following of people who genuinely want to learn and think critically. One person’s social media account can potentially reach thousands or even millions of people. Use this tool that previous generations never had. (for more about discussions, read; https://hayatimanvecihad8.wordpress.com/2025/12/07/debate-in-islam-between-truth-seeking-and-ego-defending/
5. SUPPORT THOSE ALREADY DOING THE WORK
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. There are already people and groups working for this cause through legitimate means, not through violence, but through da’wah and education. Find them. How can you support their work? Share their content widely on your platforms. Attend their events, lectures, and conferences. Fund their activities financially if they’re legitimate and doing real work. Defend them publicly when they’re slandered and attacked by critics. Amplify their message by helping spread it to people who wouldn’t otherwise encounter it.
You don’t have to be the public face or the leader of the movement. You can be a crucial supporter behind the scenes. Every role matters. The Prophet ﷺ had companions who were public speakers, others who were soldiers, others who were administrators, others who were financiers. Find your role and excel at it.
6. REACH PEOPLE OF INFLUENCE
This is the NUSRAH work at the individual level, and it’s absolutely critical. If you personally know military officers, government officials, wealthy businesspeople, community leaders, or influential scholars, give them da’wah specifically about the obligation of Khilafah. These are the people who have material power to actually make change happen when they’re convinced.
Don’t assume they won’t listen. Many people in positions of power are actually searching for meaning and purpose beyond their careers. Invite them to your study circles. Send them carefully selected resources, books, videos, articles. Have deep, extended conversations with them over time. Plant seeds and nurture them patiently.
The re-establishment of Khilafah will ultimately require people with actual power to support it, just like the Ansar were absolutely necessary in Madinah. Your job might be to plant the initial seed in someone who will later become key to this entire work. You might never know the impact of one conversation you have today.
7. DEVELOP SKILLS THAT WILL BE NEEDED
Think long-term and strategically. The future Khilafah, when it’s established, will desperately need skilled people in every field. It will need scholars who deeply understand Islamic governance and can apply it to modern contexts. It will need competent administrators who can actually run government institutions effectively. It will need economists who understand Islamic finance and can build a functioning economy. It will need military strategists who can defend Muslim lands. It will need diplomats who can represent the Ummah on the world stage. It will need media professionals who can communicate the message. It will need teachers and educators who can raise the next generation properly.
Whatever your profession or field of study, develop your skills with the conscious intention that they will serve the Khilafah when it’s established. Become genuinely excellent in your field. The Ummah desperately needs competent, skilled people, not just enthusiastic people. Combine your enthusiasm for this cause with real, tangible competence in your area of expertise.
8. MAKE DUA, BUT NOT ONLY DUA
Of course you should make dua to Allah sincerely and regularly: “O Allah, restore the Khilafah for this Ummah. Unite the Muslims under righteous leadership. Give us leaders who rule by Your law and establish Your justice.” Make this dua in your prayers, in tahajjud, in sujood. But understand something crucial: Dua without corresponding ACTION is not the way of the Prophet ﷺ or the Sahaba.
The Prophet ﷺ made dua constantly, and he worked tirelessly. The Sahaba made dua in every prayer, and they sacrificed everything they had. You must make dua AND simultaneously do the actual work of da’wah and seek nusrah. Allah tells us clearly in the Quran: “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves” (13:11). Waiting for Allah to change things while you do nothing is not reliance on Allah, it’s laziness disguised as piety.
9. BE PATIENT AND PERSISTENT
The Prophet ﷺ worked for 13 long years in Makkah before the Islamic state was finally established in Madinah. Thirteen years of constant work, relentless persecution, heartbreaking setbacks, and agonizing slowness. This massive undertaking will not happen overnight. You need to understand and accept this from the beginning. You might spend years making da’wah and see very little visible result. You might be mocked, rejected, opposed by people you thought would support you. You might feel like you’re making no progress at all.
But this is the path of all the Prophets. This is the path of everyone who works for truth against falsehood. Remember that the Prophet ﷺ spent an entire decade in Makkah and converted only a few dozen people. But those few dozen people changed the entire world. Your job, your ONLY job, is to do the work with sincerity and excellence. Allah will grant victory in His perfect timing. Trust Him. “And say: ‘Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so, will] His Messenger and the believers’” (Quran 9:105).
10. NEVER COMPROMISE THE METHODOLOGY
This point is absolutely critical and non-negotiable: The ONLY legitimate way to establish the Khilafah is through DA’WAH and NUSRAH, the exact methodology the Prophet ﷺ used. Any group or individual that uses violence against innocent civilians, military coups without proper ideological foundation, or indiscriminate takfir (declaring Muslims as disbelievers), these people are NOT following the Prophet’s methodology. We reject them completely without hesitation.
The Khilafah must be established exactly the way the Prophet ﷺ established it: through intellectual conviction achieved via da’wah, through seeking and receiving support from people of power who are convinced by the truth, through patience and unwavering persistence over years or even decades, and through strict adherence to Islamic principles throughout the entire process. Any other way, no matter how tempting it might seem when you’re frustrated with how long this takes, is not from Islam and will never have Allah’s blessing. Victory comes only through following the Prophetic method.
THE STAGES SUMMARIZED
At the individual level, here’s what you can do starting RIGHT NOW, today, this moment:
Stage 1 is LEARN: educate yourself thoroughly about the obligation, study the methodology in detail, understand all the arguments and counter-arguments so you’re prepared.
Stage 2 is TEACH: make da’wah to your family and close friends first, start small study circles in your community, use social media platforms strategically, and steadily spread awareness wherever you have influence.
Stage 3 is ORGANIZE: actively connect with like-minded people who share this understanding, build networks and relationships, support existing legitimate work being done, and continuously develop your skills to be more useful.
Stage 4 is REACH PEOPLE OF INFLUENCE: give specific da’wah to those who have actual power in society, actively seek nusrah from those capable of providing material support, and build deep relationships with key individuals who can make real change happen.
At the collective level, here’s what happens when many thousands of individuals are simultaneously doing this work:
When thousands, then hundreds of thousands, then millions of Muslims come to understand this obligation clearly, public opinion begins to fundamentally shift across the entire Ummah. The idea transitions from “fringe extremism” to mainstream Islamic discourse. People of power, military officers, government officials, business leaders, influential scholars begin to seriously listen and consider. Material support starts building among those who have the means to provide it.
When critical mass is finally reached, and only Allah knows when that moment will come, people of real power will openly support re-establishment. Material support (nusrah) will be provided by those with the means. The Khilafah can be formally declared in one region and then expand. Islamic governance will be implemented in practice, not just theory. This is not fantasy or wishful thinking. This is EXACTLY, step by step, how the Prophet ﷺ did it in his lifetime. If it worked then, it can work now, because human nature hasn’t changed and Allah’s laws don’t change.
COMMON QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Someone will ask: “But governments will stop us! They’ll arrest us, ban our gatherings, censor our speech!”
The answer is simple: The Quraysh tried desperately to stop the Prophet ﷺ. They tortured believers brutally, they killed some, they persecuted relentlessly, they used every tool of oppression available to them. But da’wah continued despite everything they did. You make da’wah within the limits of what’s possible in your specific context. When they close one door, you find another door. When they ban one platform, you move to another. When they ban one account, you open another one. The message spreads regardless of their efforts because truth has a way of spreading that falsehood cannot permanently suppress.
Someone else will say: “This will take too long! We need solutions now!” The response is: The Prophet ﷺ worked for 13 years in Makkah before establishing the state. Was that too long? Did Allah make a mistake in His timing (Audubillah)? Allah’s timeline is always perfect, even when we don’t understand it. Your job is to do the work with excellence and sincerity, not to decide when victory should come. That’s Allah’s decision, not yours.
Another person will worry: “What if I get in trouble? What if I lose my job or get arrested?”
The reality is harsh but honest: The Sahaba were tortured brutally. Some were martyred. Summayah (may Allah be pleased with her) was killed for her faith. Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was tortured under the burning sun with rocks on his chest. They didn’t stop. They didn’t compromise. They didn’t say “this is too hard.” You must weigh the risks carefully and use wisdom, but understand this fundamental truth: there is no reward without sacrifice, and there is no victory without those willing to pay a price.
People will warn you: “Won’t we be called terrorists? Won’t they label us as khawarij?” And the answer is: The Prophet ﷺ was called far worse names, sorcerer, madman, liar, poet possessed by demons. Labels don’t change the truth one bit. As long as you strictly follow the Prophetic methodology of da’wah and nusrah, work through legitimate means, and maintain Islamic principles, you are on the right path regardless of what labels people apply to you. Let them call you whatever they want. Truth doesn’t need their approval.
Allah said:
O believers! Whoever among you abandons their faith, Allah will replace them with others who love Him and are loved by Him. They will be humble with the believers but firm towards the disbelievers, struggling in the Way of Allah; fearing no blame from anyone. This is the favour of Allah. He grants it to whoever He wills. And Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing. (Surah al-Maidah 5:54)
Finally, some will say: “Why not just focus on personal Islam? Why get involved in politics?” And we say: Because the scholars, the greatest minds of Islamic history, have consensus (ijma’) that establishing Islamic governance is FARD, an obligation of the Ummah. You cannot abandon a Fard obligation simply because it’s difficult or uncomfortable. Would you abandon Salah because it’s difficult to wake up for Fajr? Would you abandon Zakat because you don’t want to give away your money? Would you abandon Hajj because it’s expensive and requires travel? Then why would you abandon the Fard of working toward Khilafah just because it requires effort, sacrifice, and courage? Fear Allah and fulfill your obligations.
YOUR ROLE IN HISTORY
Right now, at this very moment, you face a choice that will define your legacy and determine how Allah judges you.
Option 1: Do absolutely nothing. Ignore this entire message and go back to your comfortable life. Pretend this isn’t your responsibility and that someone else will handle it. Make dua occasionally but take zero action. Watch passively as Ramadan 103, 104, 105, and beyond pass without Khilafah. Watch helplessly as Palestine is completely erased from the map. Watch in shame as the Ummah continues to be humiliated, generation after generation. This is the path of most people. This is the easy path. This is the path to regret on the Day of Judgment.
Option 2: Start the work TODAY, right now, without delay. Commit yourself completely to learning thoroughly about this obligation. Make da’wah consistently in your circles of influence. Build relationships with those who understand. Reach people of influence with this message. Develop yourself continuously to be more useful for this cause. Remain patient and persistent no matter how long it takes, no matter how many setbacks you face, no matter how many people mock you. And become part of the generation that finally restores the Khilafah after 102 years of humiliation. This is the difficult path. This is the path of sacrifice. This is the path to honor in this life and the next.
THE PROPHET’S PROMISE ﷺ
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said in an authentic hadith: “Prophethood will remain among you for as long as Allah wills it to remain, then Allah will remove it when He wills. Then there will be a Khilafah on the methodology of Prophethood, and it will last for as long as Allah wills. Then Allah will remove it when He wills. Then there will be biting monarchy, and it will last for as long as Allah wills. Then Allah will remove it when He wills. Then there will be tyrannical monarchy, and it will last for as long as Allah wills. Then Allah will remove it when He wills. Then there will be a Khilafah upon the methodology of Prophethood.” Then the Prophet ﷺ was silent. (Musnad Ahmad, Sahih)
We are living right now in the time of tyrannical monarchies and dictatorships, the era of the tawaghit who rule without the Shariah. But the Prophet ﷺ promised with certainty: the Khilafah will return. It’s not a question of “if” but “when.” The question that should terrify you is: Will YOU be part of making it happen? Will you be among those who worked for it, sacrificed for it, and earned the reward? Or will you be part of those who watched passively, did nothing, made excuses, and have to answer to Allah for their inaction?
FINAL CALL
The methodology is crystal clear: DA’WAH and NUSRAH, exactly as the Prophet ﷺ taught us. Your role is clear: Learn deeply, teach others, organize effectively, reach people of influence. The promise is certain: the Khilafah will return. The choice is entirely yours: Act with courage, or watch with cowardice. 102 Ramadans have passed without Khilafah. Will you help make Ramadan 103 different? Will you be part of the turning point? Or will you continue making comfortable excuses while the Ummah drowns in humiliation?
“Say: ‘This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah; and I am not of those who associate others with Him.’” (Quran 12:108)
The way is clear, the path is illuminated, the methodology is proven. Walk it with courage. Walk it with conviction. Walk it starting today. As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
